Origin of Uzume

Origin of Uzume

The name "Uzume Music" is derived from "Ame-no-Uzume," the goddess of performing arts in Japanese mythology.

According to myth, when Amaterasu (the Sun Goddess) hid inside the rock cave and plunged the world into darkness, Ame-no-Uzume captivated millions of deities with her dance and humor, ultimately leading to the restoration of light to the world.

Inspired by the legacy of Ame-no-Uzume, who brought a new light to the world, we embodied her name into our company.

Content IPs originating from Japan possess the power to captivate the world. We believe that soft power is not merely a cultural attraction, but a vital industry for delivering true value to the global stage.

To maximize the potential of soft power, it is essential not only to create works but also to manage and cultivate them as assets. Only by creating works, delivering them, protecting rights, and continuously nurturing them can we build an industry that truly reaches the world.

In an era where the international community is shifting rapidly, and values and orders are easily shaken, fostering empathy and trust through culture carries profound meaning. We firmly believe that Japanese content IPs will serve as a crucial force for connecting with the world in such times.

Just as Ame-no-Uzume paved the way to restore light to the world through performing arts and humor, we too will continue to bring the light of a new culture to society through music.
